Holistic Nutrition

Eating well during the postpartum period is one of the most essential ways to help your body heal, and balance your hormones. Often nutrient stores are completely depleted after pregnancy so those will need to be replenished. You may also need to take into account optimal foods to promote lactation in mom, and avoid gas producing foods for baby.

Naturopathy

"In the postpartum period, Naturopathic medicine is a powerful tool to speed recovery from Cesarean or vaginal birth and help new families thrive. Naturopathy can assist with increasing energy levels, improving milk supply, building up nutrient stores to recover from postpartum depletion, and reduce post-partum depression and anxiety. It can also help with the following common postpartum concerns:
• Clogged ducts / Mastitis
• Healthy weight loss
• Sleep
• Energy levels
• Anxiety and depression
• Postpartum depletion
• Perineal / scar healing
• Pain"

Doula Support

Having a postpartum doula is truly like having your very own Fairy Godmother. In the days and weeks following your birth, our doulas are there to help support the mom with anything she may need to ease her recovery. They can help feed, bathe, rock, and soothe baby so mom can have a shower, nap or meal. They can also help with laundry for the baby, meal prep for mom, playing with older children, and even with breastfeeding, self-confidence, and emotional support. Overnight support is also available so that the parents can get some rest and know that baby will be cared for during wake times. The ultimate goal is to give the family confidence, affirmation education, and support in order to get them to a place where they are comfortable and ready to move forward on their own.

Psychotherapy & Counselling

Becoming a parent comes with unexpected feelings, emotions, and frustrations, that at times, may feel overwhelming and confusing. Experiencing baby blues is a very common postpartum symptom which you do not have to manage alone! If your feelings intensify or do not improve over time, asking for the support you need earlier on can help you to feel better. Whatever type of support you need, we are here to listen, guide, and help you manage.

Registered Massage Therapy

Postpartum massage is well known for relaxation, stress reduction, pain relief and other health benefits. Unique postpartum benefits include hormone regulation, reduced swelling, better sleep, and improved breastfeeding. More advanced therapy methods can help restore your body to its pre-pregnancy condition, while speeding up healing and assisting with caesarean birth recovery.

Osteopathy / Manual Therapy

"Osteopathic treatments can help the body on the road to recovery during the postpartum period. As the organs, joints, and connective tissue work to get back to a pre-pregnancy state, Osteopathy can support that shift and ensure that nothing gets “stuck” along the way. Treatments can also be very effective for all of the following:
• Low back pain
• Neck pain
• Headaches
• Sciatic pain
• Other chronic pain"

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

In France, every woman is assessed and treated by a pelvic health physiotherapist as standard care. We do our best at The WOMB to educate families on how important this is, as many women will continue to have pelvic floor dysfunction for many years after giving birth. Pelvic floor muscles are just like any other skeletal muscle in our body, and they need to be restored after childbirth. Our team of pelvic health physiotherapists ensures that the lingering causes of pelvic or back pain, painful intercourse, bladder issues such as leaking during movement or a sneeze, and connective tissue separation (or widening) of the abdomen, (diastasis recti, commonly referred to as “Mummy Tummy”), are all corrected to optimize physical function.

Personal Training

In addition to being Personal Trainers, our team are also Certified Pre and Postnatal Fitness Specialists and Bellies Inc Core Confidence Trainers. What does this mean for you? We have a whole sequence of programming with progressions specifically designed to help repair and restore the postpartum body. We teach breathing to connect to the deep core muscles, and how to re-train before training. Every exercise will be functional and designed to improve your posture and “mummy tummy”, make every day tasks easier, and ultimately one day help you get into better shape than you were in before baby!

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai yoga massage is an amazingly effective treatment for releasing tension and pain in the postpartum body, as well as reducing stress, and boosting energy – something every new parent needs! Our therapist uses a variety of body parts in the treatment including palming, elbows, knees, and feet, allowing her to get deep into the muscles and release them. Thai massage also incorporates yoga-like stretches which will help to enhance the client’s flexibility and allow a greater range of motion.

Holistic Sleep Coaching

While working together, parents will learn to focus on their baby’s cues, and to better trust their instincts. Our goal is to help parents find sleep solutions through responsive parenting practices, while building connected relationships. We are passionate about helping families improve sleep without resorting to sleep training. We never utilize extinction or separation-based techniques to get children to sleep. The result is that, when developmentally ready, a baby will be comfortable falling asleep. Parents should not have to choose between a cry it out, or a wait it out approach. There is a middle ground, and we are here to help.

Chiropractic Care

Following birth, Chiropractic services can help alleviate various types of pain that may linger. As the body attempts to heal, treatments can help realign the body’s ligaments and joints, thereby reducing pain and in turn, improving mood and everyday function.
